Position Summary

The primary function of this position is to efficiently schedule and coordinate daily deliveries and pickups and ensure invoices are completed in a timely manner. The Dispatcher observes all safety regulations, ensures quality standards are met, and works closely with Inside Sales and Yard Associates to ensure deliveries are accurate.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Coordinate loads and create routes by location to maximize efficiency.
• Use the dispatch system properly and consistently.
• Communicate with the yard crew on deliveries that need to be pulled.
• Ensure all material is invoiced prior to leaving the yard.
• Keep the yard and warehouse free of debris and organized.
• Ensure trucks are loaded, strapped, and checked off for first-out deliveries for the next day.
• Ensure quick turnaround times for trucks between deliveries.
• Communicate with the store team on delivery lead times.
• Ensure returns picked up at job sites are counted, returned, and placed back in stock within 24 hours.
• Communicate with management regarding any issues with equipment or assets.
• Assist management in overseeing yard operations; ensure premises are well maintained (overall cleanliness, materials stocked in proper place).
• Report all accidents/incidents immediately to your supervisor (even if minor) and obtain required information; ensure reports are completed and turned in the day of the incident.
• Provide great customer service.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education: High school diploma preferred, although not required.

Experience: Previous related work experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Industry experience and product knowledge preferred.
• Hand truck and forklift experience preferred.
• Tape measure required.
• Customer focused.
• Attention to detail.
• Safety conscious.
