Description: We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Store Manager Trainee to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who is eager to learn and grow within the lumber and retail industry. As a Trainee, you will assist in daily store operations, inventory management, and customer service, while gaining hands-on experience in a fast-paced retail environment.
Responsibilities:
- Store Operations: Assist in managing daily store activities including cashiering, stocking shelves, and customer assistance to ensure a smooth operational flow.
- Inventory Management: Engage with our inventory systems and procedures; assist with ordering, receiving, and restocking products. Maintain and merchandise store inventory effectively.
- Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service by offering friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable assistance. Resolve customer issues with a positive attitude.
- Teamwork: Work collaboratively with team members to ensure efficient store operations. Participate in team meetings and contribute positively to team goals.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all employees.
- Training and Development: Actively participate in training programs to develop skills in management, safety protocols, freight handling, and forklift operations.
- Sales and Financial Management: Develop skills in interpreting common financial reports and managing store finances, including payroll and invoicing using POS Systems.
- Technical Skills: Learn to read blueprints and create material estimates and lists. Gain proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.
- Learning and Advancement: Complete a structured learning plan and course of study within the assigned time frame. Must be willing to relocate for management positions and learn the sales side of the business to help drive growth.
- Flexibility for Additional Responsibilities: Flexibility to undertake additional tasks to support the team and evolving business needs.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; higher education or certifications in business or management preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience in current or previous role.
- Previous experience in Pro and Remodel, commissioned sales, customer service, and related fields are beneficial.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Eagerness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to relocate as required for career advancement.
- Valid driver’s license
