Overview

Position Summary:

The primary function of this position is to efficiently schedule and coordinate the daily deliveries/pickups and fill out invoices in a timely manner.  Observe all safety regulations, ensuring all quality standards are met and safe. Work closely with Inside Sales and Yard Associates to ensure deliveries are accurate.

 

Major Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate loads and create routes accordingly by location to maximize efficiency
  • Proper use of the dispatch system
  • Communicate with yard crew on deliveries that need to be pulled.
  • Ensure that all material is invoiced prior to leaving the yard
  • Keep yard and warehouse free of debris.
  • Ensure trucks are loaded, strapped, and check off for the first out deliveries for the next day
  • Ensure quick turnaround times for trucks between deliveries.
  • Communicate with store team on delivery lead times
  • Making sure returns picked up at jobsites are counted, returned, and put back in stock with-in 24 hrs.
  • Communicate with management of any issues with equipment/assets
  • Assist management in overseeing yard operation. Ensure the premise(s) is/are well maintained (grass cut, overall cleanliness). Material is stocked in proper place.
  • Report all accidents/incidents immediately to your supervisor (even if minor). Obtain all information about operator, vehicle, insurance, etc.  If property damage or personal injury occurs, obtain all related information including names, address, and type of damage or injury.  Proper reports must be filled out completely and turned into your supervisor the day of the incident.
  • Provide great customer service
  • Perform other duties, as assigned.

  •   Operate vehicle in a safe, efficient and courteous manner.

  • Conduct vehicle safety inspections as required.
  • Follow all established procedures and guidelines.
  • Assist in loading, unloading, stocking and pulling of merchandise.
  • Complete all paperwork in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Load and unload vehicle in a manner that ensures material is properly secured and free from potential damage.

 

Qualification Guide:

 

Education:        High school diploma preferred, although not required

Experience:      Previous related work experience preferred.

                       

 

Knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • Industry experience and product knowledge preferred
  • Hand truck and forklift preferred
  • Tape measure required
  • Customer focused
  • Attention to detail
  • Safety conscience
