Position Summary:
The primary function of this position is to prepare, build, assemble and inspect interior and exterior doors, frames, millwork, and hardware. Perform general housekeeping.
Major Responsibilities:
- Perform cutting and packaging of materials, as directed, to prepare products for customer’s use
- Read blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine the dimensions of the structure
- Take measurements and calculate the size and amount of material needed
- Prepare doors and frame assemblies, cut, grind, sand, build and assemble
- Inspect interior and exterior doors, frames, jams, millwork using grinders, saws, drills, and other tools to make item to specifications
- Assemble and cut wooden frame doors, pull hardware, and gather accessories to complete door according to specifications
- Build cabinets, windows, and door frames by using raw materials or pre-constructed material.
- Assemble frame components, heads, bottoms, sides, panels, and molding in jigs or fixtures.
- Load orders onto customer vehicles and company delivery vehicles
- Wrap, strap, label and secure doors for delivery or storage and load into trailer / containers as required
- Review materials received for correct quantity and condition
- Keep yard and warehouse free of debris
- Maintain and operate company equipment in a safe and efficient manner
- Participate in loading, unloading, stocking, and pulling of merchandise as necessary
- Inspect and report to supervisor/ manager, daily, all maintenance or safety related issues with equipment
- Report all accidents in the Yard immediately to your supervisor (even if minor). Obtain all information about operator, vehicle, insurance, etc. If property damage or personal injury occurs, obtain all related information including names, address, and type of damage or injury. Proper reports must be filled out completely and turned into your supervisor the day of the incident
- Perform other duties, as assigned
Qualification Guide:
Education: High school diploma preferred, although not required
Experience: Previous related work experience preferred
Knowledge, skills and abilities:
- Minimum of 2 years of carpenter experience and product knowledge preferred.
- Hand truck and forklift preferred
- Proficient in using electrical and manual equipment and measurement tools (powered saws, hammers, rulers etc.)
- Ability to read technical documents and drawings
- Attention to details

- Frequent exposure to heat, cold, rain, humidity, wind
Lifting/Moving:
- Frequent carrying and lifting objects up to 50 lbs. Occasional lifting of up to 80 lbs.
Additional Requirements:
- Overtime required, as needed, including weekends
